My Hometown
I live in southeast Texas in a small town. Nederland's heritage is deeply rooted in Dutch ancestry, which gives the town its name. Nederland was officially placed on the map on December 24, 1897.
Nederland is best known for the landmark Dutch Windmill located in the center of the Nederland Heritage Festival held each spring. A replica of a Windmill houses a museum honoring the Dutch Heritage and mementos of Tex Ritter, who call Nederland his home.
