Friday the 13th

Our Gift Shop has been open all week; not many customers, but a steady stream.  The Shop is open from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm; I was able to cut out several denim totes and squares for 3 memory quilts while waiting.  We added more items, so I took more photos.  Sorry, our pretty decorated lighted wine bottles came out blurry; I'll try again next week.  Some of the items are:  sweatshirt jackets, fleece & yarn scarves, Avon gift baskets, Tupperware, Christmas tablerunners and hot mats, various raggy items.  For every purchase, I give a free raggy bookmark.

Yesterday I took a few photos of our gift shop at the Senior Center. We've added some more items, so I'll take more picture tomorrow. Here are a few items we have: crocheted and fleece scarves, sweatshirt jackets, decorated, lighted wine bottles, Avon gift baskets, raggy quilts, fabric boxes, raggy burp cloths, cat toys, Christmas table runners, crazy quilt coasters and much more.  We have reasonable prices and can ship for exact fees.

Newest Endeavor!

I'm not sure what I got myself into, but I'm starting a new endeavor.  Our Senior Center has expanded its Gift Shop and needed someone to man it.  So, I volunteered -- what was I thinking? lol.  It will be open from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.  Since I'm already at the Center on Wednesday & Thursday, I just added three days to my schedule.  The good thing is I can sew in the Quilt Room; when customers show up, I just walk across the hallway.  And the better thing is we've already had customers!    When I can find the camera cord, I'll post some photos I took this morning.  I'll post an update from time to time.  Seriously, this will be fun!

Crazy Quilt

The ladies who work in our quilt room at the Senior Center finished the Crazy Quilt this week.  It's hanging up in the big room and is our current fundraiser.  Come visit the Center and check it out.

We also started our new project.  We're making denim totebags.  Come learn to make one or order one for yourself.

Have a peaceful Sunday!

I'm hoping to have a good day today.  For the last few days, I've been busy sewing.  I finished one Memory Quilt and mailed it.  (It's 46" by 58".)  I'm almost through enlarging a Memory Quilt and finished tying the Crazy quilt for the Senior Center.  Don't you think I'm due for a break? lol
My next project will be a raggy tote; it's an order for the Center.  Then, I have two t-shirt quilts to start.  I will post a photo of the latest Memory Quilt; it's a generous lap quilt size.  I haven't taken photos of my other projects.  I will make sure to take photos of the Crazy Quilt; it is a fundraiser or the Center.  Bye for now!

More Totes!

I love making tote bags, especially Market Bags.  These normally have no pockets, so easy, easy.  I saw a pattern the other day for a market bag made from animal feed sacks.  I finally found someone to furnish six bags; I told her I would make one for her.  Well, I made two and I believe that's all I'll do, lol.  My machine doesn't like the vinyl; but they were easy, easy, especially since I used webbing for the straps.  Here is a photo of the two I made.  (I'll donate the other one, plus the 4 other bags, to our Senior Center.)  Hopefully, someone else will love making them.

sweatshirt jacket

I'm still very active with our local Senior Center quilt group.  Our latest project is a sweatshirt jacket, trimmed with yarn.  The ladies have made lots and lots of scarfs; I made one.  However, I am on my 2nd jacket, one a week, lol.  We are selling them as part of our fundraising.  We're also almost thorough with a Crazy Quilt.  It is traditional and will be quilted on our longarm.  I'll take photos when it's completed.  Here are photos of our jackets:

Hello; I'm back!

I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted in my blog. I've been busy making Memory Quilts -- 27 to be exact.  I finally have a break; have three more orders, but haven't rec'd the clothes yet.  If you want to order a memory quilt (using either clothes from a loved one or your own clothes), just contact me.  These are what I consider generous lap sized.  Here are the latest quilts I delivered today:

Other than quilting, I've been busy with family.  I'm so lucky to have kids and grandkids.

Too early in the morning!

What am I doing awake at 3:51 am?  I've checked my e-mail; going to blog; then, going to try to go back to sleep.  I've been busy working on travel bags.  I made several for our Senior Center and made some for myself to sell.  There is going to be an Art in the Park in our town of Nederland today.  Our Senior Center will have a booth with our handmade items.  We also have a beautiful Crazy Quilt Wallhanger for donations.  It was a team effort.  After I've set up my booth, I'll take some photos.  I emptied my craft booth; didn't know I had so much stuff in that booth, lol.

Good Friday

Where has the time gone?  Seems like just yesterday it was Ash Wednesday!  We're going to have pancakes for dinner tonight.  What are you having?
I just posted a few new items in my selling blog, RaggyAnne, and noticed I have just a few followers.  Won't you be my follower?
I'm working on another raggy quilt for our Senior Center.  I'm happy to report that three out of the five I made for them has sold.  We're also working on cosmetic bags to sell for the Center also.
Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend.

Crown Royal Raggy Quilt

Good Morning!  Wonder what the weather will be today?  For the last few days, it's been a little chilly; DH & I even wore our windbreakers.  I believe it's usually warmer this time of year in Texas.
My latest project has been a Crown Royal Raggy Quilt.  It was a custom order; my customer gave me the Crown Royal bags -- they weren't fun to cut up, lol.  Of course, it was done in the raggy style.  But I'm proud of the way it came out.  This is truly a OOAK (one of a kind).  So now, I've made several Memory Quilts and one Crown Royal Quilt; I hope to make a T-Shirt Quilt soon.  Let me know what type of custom quilt you would like me to make for you......

A Beautiful Sunday!

It's another beautiful day here in Southeast Texas.  Today is the last day of our Festival; I'm sure the newspaper will report record breaking crowds.  Yesterday I had a chance to walk thru the vendor booths -- such nice items!
I'm been sewing again.  This time, I made cosmestic bags, which can also be used as "anything" bags.  I've just listed two on etsy; will continue making them and listing them for sale.
Pictured is the 1st one I completed.  Not too shabby for the 1st time I've done a zipper in about 20 years, lol.  E-mail me when you would like your own.  I can do whatever color choice you have.

Pretty day here in Texas!

Today is the beginning of our annual Heritage Festival and it was a beautiful day.  The rest of the week is going to be pretty; I'm so glad; we've had too many rainy days in the last few years.
I'm finally posting a photo of the D9P raggy quilt I made for our Senior Center.  I enjoyed making it.......

Good Morning!

Where does the time go?  I'm still busy sewing; trying some new small projects.  Though I am still doing raggy quilts for the Senior Center.  I finished a D9P last week; am working on a simple square one this week.  I also finished some cat play mats; they're so cute!
Our DGD, Maddie, was at our house for about 3 weeks while her mother was recuperating from surgery.  We loved having her; thank goodness her dad took over when he returned from work.  I believe God gave us kids when we are younger for a reason, lol.  Oh, while I was making cat toys for a Relay for Life team, she came to check them out.  So, of course, I had to make one for her cat.

Good Early Morning!

I can't believe it's 3 am; can't sleep so decided to blog.  It's going to be a long day.....  My DD is an Avon Leader and has an awards event to attend this evening.  It's about 4 hours away, so I'm going to go along to help with my DGD.  She found a heated swiming pool; that will be mine and Meagan's entertainment, lol.
I finished some more raggy baby security blankets.  They are addictive!  Good thing I have lots of novelty flannel fabrics and lots of ribbons.  I even made one that is not raggy.  When I made the traditional ones before, they seemed so much trouble.  But I used one of the tips I learned with the raggy ones to make this one and it was easier.  I have them listed on etsy, but will list them in my RaggyAnne blog as soon as I have time.  Have a great Monday!

Raggy Nautical Quilt

I've been busy sewing and babysitting.  Story of my life, lol.  I did finish the Nautical raggy quilt and delivered it to my customer; haven't heard if her hubby liked it or not.  I've also done other sewing; made cat toys, cat play mats, and baby security lovies.  Check out my etsy shop for some of my listings.  Here is a photo of the Nautical Quilt:

Fabric Plastic Bag Holder

How's everyone doing?  I'm keeping busy sewing.  I made a few fabric plastic bag holders to add to my Craft Mall Booth and to list in etsy.  Can't believe I had never made them before.  Of course, I "found" the fabric in my stash, lol.
I made nine; then started on a custom order.  My customer wants a nautical theme raggy quilt for her DH.  She also wants it by Valentine's Day.  Even though it will be put together in a raggy style, I'm making the blocks traditional.  I'll post a photo as soon as it's finished.  Wish me luck with the time line.

Good Morning!

Good Morning!  It's going to rain today, but it's not going to keep me in, lol.  Today is Wednesday, so it's quilt day for me.  Our Senior Center has a group that meets every Wednesday; we either work on a hand quilt or another project.  Some ladies are finished up a Southern Lady quilt; I'm currently working on crazy quilt blocks.  These are done with fancy fabrics so I'm sewing them together by hand.  If I ever can figure out the new photo posting here, I'll post photos when the quilt is completed.  Have a good day!

Framed Memory Quilts

Good Morning!  How is your year going so far?  So far, my year is doing great!  I forgot how much I love to do crazy quilt blocks.  After making the seven memory quilts, I had some small scraps left.  So, I made several small wallhangers and framed them.  I did either a crazy quilt heart or simple crazy quilt block.  Then, I went to resell shops and bought some frames.  My last customer loved them!  I would love to make more.  If you have clothes you would like made into memory quilts, I can use the scraps to make you the same framed blocks.  Or, I can make a block from current fabrics.  Wouldn't that make a pretty picture on the wall?  Here are some of the frames:
(I'm sorry, right now I'm not able to load my photos; I'll try again later.)
